Ross Noble is one of the funniest comedians ever. And with a last name like that, 'King of Comedy' is quite a fitting title. Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to go and see him perform on his Nonsensory Overload Tour. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect, and I mean that in a way, as in you never know what to expect with him, due to his randomly hilarious unpredictability. I think one of the reasons Ross is so popular, is that the majority of the content in his shows is improvised, and he interacts a lot with the audience. Being that the audience is changing night to night, inevitably the show is going to be quite different night to night as well

I'd seen plenty of his performances on TV or the internet, so I guess the only thing I did expect, was that at any moment he could go off on a wild tangent for 15 minutes, before returning to (attempting at least) the story he started earlier. And that's what I love about him. With most comedians, when they go on tour, each night is more or less the same show, with perhaps a couple minutes of spontaneous joking about here and there, amongst predominantly pre-scripted jokes. Not that that's a bad thing, I've seen many comedians live, and even if I've heard the joke before, it's always funnier live (think about seeing a band live in concert...you want them to play songs you know, not just a whole load of jamming). But let me tell you, I've never heard him tell the same joke twice excluding multiple views of the same footage.
And that's just the introduction.
I went with my girlfriend, and had the best laugh I've had in ages. Seeing a comedian is always a great thing to do, since tickets are usually under $50, so you can take you partner out for the night without breaking the bank. My girlfriend and I try to see at least one comedian each year - if we don't get to any other shows this year, I'm very happy to have seen Ross Noble.
