First up, I'd like to say happy belated Star Wars Day to everyone (May the 4th). And now to the point of the post. Last night I saw the Avengers, which came out April 25 in Australia (suck it rest of world). Having seen the first two Iron Man movies and some pretty impressive trailers, I walked into the Avengers high pretty high expecations. I never got around to seeing Captain America or Thor, but I knew their stories well enough anyway.

Walking out after the movie, I can only say it's awesome. It's action, it's sci-fi, it's Superheros, and it's bloody funny as well. The basic story line is not surprising: Earth (or rather the USA's representation of the Earth - themselves) is under attack, and it's too much for one person to save the day. Avengers assemble!! Now there's a group of Superhero's and they can kick-ass. Not a lot to it when you break it down like that, but the production and execution of it couldn't have been better. The cinematography and CGI are some of the best I've seen, nothing looked fake - quite explosive, you could say. I also loved how all the Avengers came on board. It wasn't "help, we need you" and suddenly they can work as a team, despite most of them never having anything to do with each other. They were dysfunctional and had to sort out their differences, which made their relationships much more interesting.

I'm not going to talk too much about the movie itself, because you just need to see it for yourself. Also, I'm not a critic, so it'd more likely just sound like I'm rambling to try and sound all professional. But let me say, the two most anticipated movies of the year are this and The Dark Knight Rises. The interesting thing with that is they're from competing universes. The Avengers has set the bar high, so it will be interesting to see how Batman compares. One thing I would like to see is a Batman vs. Iron Man movie, however that will sadly never happen. But just think about it...'epic' may appropriately be used.

I really enjoyed watching the Avengers, and if I was in to giving things a 'Star Rating', I'd give it a galaxy (that's about a million stars). It's fitting that the new poll asks who your favourite Avenger is. In a previous post, results from a poll asking for you favourite Superhero, Iron Man came out on top of Superman, Batman, Spiderman and Wolverine. So will he win again, or do you prefer one of the other Avengers? Speaking of Iron Man, if you've seen the movie, then you'll know what this is:

Results from the last poll are in as well, which asked where/when would you visit, if time-travel was real: No one wanted to stay here and now (fair enough). Visiting dinosaurs, the future, and 'a long time ago' all got 1 vote. And interestingly enough, going back a couple years to fix or change your life was most popular. Feeling guilty?
