WETS!

The average female wardrobe consists of 20 pairs of pants, 30 different tops, 30 dresses and 10 skirts (100% statistically accurate), for roughly 2000 combinations, which is more than enough to last them 5 years, yet we still see the same outfit again and again. Having said that, we don't remember every outfit anyway, so you could halve the number of clothes you own and probably still be safe.

The average male wardrobe consists of 2 pairs of pants, and 10 t-shirts (also 100% statistically accurate), supplying you with enough combinations to last a couple weeks, by which point everyone has forgotten what your wore anyway.

My wardrobe consists of 5 pairs of pants, and exactly 84* t-shirts. I can wear a different shirt for nearly 3 months. If you include pant combos, I can keep going with a fresh look for nearly 500 days. Necessary? No. Unique? Yes. Awesome? Absolutely.

This is the page for Weekend T-Shirts (WETS, not as suss as you think), a series of videos on the Sex, Star Wars, Rock & Roll YouTube channel. In each video I talk about one of my many shirts, the most recent of which you can find below. Props to my sister for the idea. Below are some stats on my t-shirt inventory, which I will update from time to time as my collection grows.

  • Total T-Shirt Count: 84
  • Black T-Shirts: 37 [44.0%]
  • Sex T-Shirts: 0/84 [0/100%]**
  • Star Wars T-Shirts: 10 [11.9%]
    • Of which are black: 4
  • Rock & Roll T-Shirts: 36 [42.8%]
    • Of which are black: 19
    • Red Hot Chili Peppers: 6
  • Travel T-Shirts: 12 [14.4%]
    • Of which are black: 3
  • Geek T-Shirts: 14 [16.7%]
    • Of which are black: 6
  • Oldest T-Shirt: circa 2006
  • T-Shirts lost along the way: at least 3

Based on the above numbers, at the time of starting this project (September 2014) it will last me 1 year and 7 months (1 per week for 84 weeks). I'm going to make an estimate that by the end it will have run for at least 1 year and 11 months, in the aim of reaching a milestone of 100 t-shirts. Enjoy this week's video!

*This number will change as I accrue more t-shirts. Yes, this is a good thing.
**None of my t-shirts have anything specifically to do with sex (note to self, get a t-shirt with boobies), however I guess they all have potential to be 'sex t-shirts'.
